Keeping busy

Have been home since Thursday, and am now beginning to feel like the whole time on the ship was a dream! I had a good time. Settled in to the work really easily, although 3 weeks is definitely my sanity limit for DJing. I got to go scuba diving twice - the first with the one PAX was great and saw all sorts of amazing fish, including a Napolean Wras (don't worry, I'm still referring to most of them by their "Finding Nemo" names! am not about to become a fish-officionado) which was about 1m long and half as high - apparently that's a baby- and a bat fish that was about 1/2 m big - incredible :) I didn't take these photo's but just to show you what they look like......

The second time I went diving was in Sokhna and there was a large group of PAX. We were split up into abilities. I was with 2 teenage lads and one of their fathers. One lad had to drop out due to having a cold and our guide was holding on to the smaller lad and his Dad so I was left following and taking photo's with my much sought, and finally found, underwater camera - huzzah! Here are some snaps - as ever click to get a bigger version. (You'll need to-it can be a game of spot the fish!)

So since I've been back I've been to church, one rehearsal, JAM Club and will be going to house group later. Fell like I'm getting abck into theswing of things a bi more. I went to apply for bar job today so we'll see how that pans out and Anne is doing all of my bits in rehearsals this week so am concentrating very hard on those lines!!

Only 1 week left to go now and it's been fun but am looking forward to getting home anf getting on with stuff - who knows maybe it'll snow aggain and I'll get to PLAY!!!!

Ah, DJing

Well, as I type this I am enjoying a glass of Merlot (The OB has stopped serving spirits and you now have to use your card to buy drinks - I guess sthey can check up if necessary! - but now has a much better wine selection - mainly thanks to the Chief Engineer) and there is a horrendous grinding racket going on - generally meaning we're coming into port - we are in Sochna (I think!).

All is going well onboard. I arrived to find Michael still here and he's not leaving 'til Tuesday so we've had fun splitting the duties between us (which means not doing much at all really!) and I've DJ'd one night and start officially tomorrow. My Badge reads 'DJBex', so a season trying to stop people calling me that was all in vain, and my first 2 days wandering around the ship I felt like a celebrity as all the crew kept saying 'hello' and 'welcome back', it's nice!

The PLAN is underway. I know about 2/3 of my lines (well all of them except the 6 page bit!) and I've been spending about 1hr 1/2 in the gym everyday - not bad, although my muscles are wondering what the heck is going on :)

Had some new gameshows to learn but fairly straightforward as it's all similar to the others I've done. I've felt very calm about the whole the thing really, which is an answered prayer, not letting stuff stress me out and sorting things out as I go along. I'm also in the cabin next to my old one so not too much of an orientation problem either! I've spoken to the Scuba diving duo and I should be going on a couple of dives, Yeyey!!!

There's lots of gossip and all sorts of things happening with TPTB but generally it can only be a good thing:)
